Congress led Jharkhand government has issued an notification regarding the sale of liquor in the state.
In the notification, Value Added Tax on liquors including IMFL has been increased by 75%. The notification will be effective from today.
Jharkhand is currently hit by coronavirus and have 248 confirmed cases with over 100 active cases.
The rise in the prices of liquor is nothing new, it’s a common pattern throughout India where many states have increased the VAT on Liquor sale.
Madhya Pradesh government has issued a notification regarding no sale of liquor in major cities.
